Changes to mask-wearing guidance will not apply when visiting healthcare services
We understand the government is expected to help clarify the position on IPC arrangements (incl. facemasks) in healthcare settings today – supporting guidance already in place.
To help support practices with a clear message about a continued requirement wearing a face mask in GP practices and other health and care settings, please find below the suggested social media graphic/accompanying text and poster.
We understand NHSE/I are also preparing a communications toolkit that you can also use but we didn’t want to wait and delay getting these important messages out. We also will be pushing these messages out through all of our public-facing communications channels.

Suggested accompanying text for use of social media: ‘COVID-19 has not gone away. Wearing a mask dramatically reduces cross-infection, will protect those still vulnerable including health and care staff. Help us to help you by making sure you wear a mask with you when visiting GP services. NOTE: NHS staff have a right to care for others without fear of abuse. Aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated. #ASBAwarenessWeek
