Providers are now accepting appropriate referrals into Essential (Extensive and Enhanced) and Partial (Limited) services. They are not at this time accepting referrals into Stopped (Suspended) services but plan to review that position regularly and will look to identify solutions to the particular challenges those service areas present.
Please be aware that the current status recognises the continued presence of Covid-19 in terms of how care can be safely delivered, but also ongoing capacity challenges where staff remain redeployed.
This means that teams will continue to utilise virtual means as much as is clinically and operationally safe to do so, supported by patient/carer education, and clear escalation routes for patients via Essex Wellbeing Service.
It also means that, whilst referrals may be accepted by the provider, there may remain longer waits for interventions that are of lower clinical priority or acuity, though teams are working hard to increase capacity as soon as possible.
Providers will continue to update as further changes become possible, in line with national guidance and changing local context.
