General phlebotomy update

• To support our current Phlebotomy service, PROVIDE has started to offer a Phlebotomy service at Burnham Clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8am and 12noon. There will be 16 appointment slots for the session with one phlebotomist providing the service. Patients will need to contact the Care Co-ordination centre on 0300 131 0111 to arrange an appointment.
• St Peter’s Hospital in Maldon reopened on Monday 13 July to increase our current capacity. This service will operate from 7am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday. To book a blood test appointment patients can call 01245 516 963. This service will be appointment only and not available for walk-ins.
• St Michael’s Day Hospital walk-in service in Braintree has reverted to an appointment only service due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and operates from 7am to 4pm Monday to Friday. To book a blood test appointment patients can call 01245 516 963.
• Broomfield Hospital A110 offers limited appointments for GPs and are ideally held for those with tests that have special requirements. These are available from 7:30am to 6pm. This is also the only available site for paediatric blood tests. All under 16s must be bled at Broomfield via appointment. Patients can call 01245 516 963.
• Patient-bookable phlebotomy appointments are currently offered from the new clinic at the Chelmsford Central Health Hub on Duke’s Walk, Duke Street, Chelmsford, CM1 1GZ (behind Chelmsford Bus Station). This is operating in place of the Christ Church blood testing centre for the time being and appointments are available Monday to Friday, 7:15am-2:45pm, and can be made online via SwiftQueue or by phone on 01245 516963. Parking is available in the adjacent Fairfield Road car park, CM1 1TD (£1.50 charge).
• Ante-natal blood tests: St Peter’s Hospital ante-natal clinic in Maldon will take ante-natal bloods from 8am to 2.30pm. Please note, this service is NOT the St Peter’s blood test walk-in centre but operating from the ante-natal clinic itself. Broomfield ante-natal bloods will be taken in the ante-natal clinic only (level 4) from 8am to 4pm.
