What is the Health and Care Partnership?

The Mid and South Essex Health and Care Partnership (HCP) is a partnership of the all the NHS organisations and councils that are responsible for your health and wellbeing and the three Healthwatch organisations for mid and south Essex.

Our Partnership is one of 42 HCPs in England. You can see on the map below the area we cover, including the boroughs and districts of Basildon, Braintree, Brentwood, Castle Point, City of Chelmsford, Maldon, Rochford, Southend-on-sea and Thurrock.

Working together our Partnership can make bigger investments, promote more innovation and achieve greater improvements in health and wellbeing than each of our member organisations would be able to achieve separately.

Our Partnership first published a plan for mid and south Essex in September 2016. In 2017/18, we followed up with a consultation document setting out some proposed service changes. This led to decisions about hospital developments and further plans to invest in GP practices and other community services.
